Have you heard of any superstition related to whistling?
One of them is “whistling is the beginning of a thief”.

If a child whistles at night, the mother would usually scold for it by saying this phrase.
What’s the origin behind it?
When you watch historical dramas, thieves sometimes use whistling as their sign.
Hence, mothers threaten their children as a part of upbringing in order to stop doing bad habits as well as not to get involved in bad situations (being a thief).
