That is hard to answer because it depends on people’s purpose, budget, experiences, wants & needs.

One of the reliable data for hotels worldwide is Forbes Travel.
It has not checked the Fukuoka area, so we don’t have precise data by it about Fukuoka.

Today I will recommend Hotel Trad Hakata in the Sumiyoshi area.
It takes about 20 minutes on foot from Hakata Station.

It is a kind of budget hotel, but a twin room has at least 25 square meters, a separate bath & toilet.

When you wake up, you will enjoy breakfast on the first floor.

We can choose one of the three main dishes featuring Kyushu specials like Takana pickles or spicy cod roe.
You can walk to Yanagibashi market to see local fish or vegetables.
