Takaoka Great Buddha in Daibutsuji Temple

Although there is no consensus, there are several opinions. One of them is the statue of Buddha in Takaoka, another is in Gifu. Takaoka’s statue has roughly 16 meters height and 63 tons built in 1745.

On the other hand, Gifu ones has about 14 meters height built in 1832.
Three other statues of Buddha were made of copper, while this one is made of Washi Japanese paper and dry lacquer.
It’s unique.
