Capsule Toy/ガチャガチャ

This article can be read in about 2 minutes.

You might see some machines of capsule toys at the airports and some stations so that the foreign tourists can spend coins at the last minute.
We call this machine “Gacha-gacha” or “Gacha” in Japanese.

One capsule costs between 100 and 500 yen.
Depending on the popularity and quality of the items in the capsules, the prices are different.
If you have some favorite anime characters, it might be a great opportunity to get some related items.
I guess that it is a great strategy to make foreign tourists spend their coins.
I prefer buying snacks with coins though.

How do you usually kill time while waiting for your flight?

I would like to but some capsule toys as souvenirs to bring back home. While waiting for my flight, I usually play games with my cellphone or read a book or a magazine.
