Tuna Roll

This article can be read in about 2 minutes.

Red ones are Tuna roll.

Let’s see how to make Tekka-maki, or Tuna roll.

  1.  Spread the rice over the sheet of dried seaweed.
  2.  Put wasabi or Japanese horse radish on it.
  3.  Sprinkle the minced leeks in the middle of the seaweed from right to left.
  4.  Spread the minced tuna over it.
  5.  Roll it with the bamboo mat called “Makisu” into a square shape.

Makisu is a common kitchen tool for Japanese.
You will be able to use sheets of newspaper as a substitute for Makisu.
We’ll upload some videos of making Sushi rolls using newspaper someday.
We enjoy rolling sushi with various ingredients at home.

I’m not really a fan of raw fish but I can tolerate a bite or two of sushi. It’s my husband and son who enjoy eating sushi. I prefer California maki or California roll. I used to make them myself.

I understand that, I also didn’t like eating raw fish.
But I have been able to eat them since I encountered really fresh raw fish.
I heard that foreign people don’t like eating something black like the sheet of dried seaweed.
      Is that true?
Wow. You made California maki or California roll by yourself!? Amazing.
Actually, I’ve never eaten them. hahaha…
If you make them again, you might post your photos.
      Thanks again for your comment.
